Decorex Review …<\/strong><\/p>\n

Decorex never disappoints.\u00a0 As always, the UK\u2019s leading trade-only fair for the decorating world presented a visual feast (see the daily highlights in our Blog, www.thehousemag.com<\/a>. But some of the best rewards awaited the intrepid visitor who took time to check out the myriad specialist services on offer \u2013 some of which we\u2019ve set out below. With so much on offer, interior design has never been so much fun!<\/p>\n

This giant \u2018paint chart\u2019 on Alternative Flooring\u2019s stand attracted lots of attention.\u00a0 It marked the launch of their \u2018Colourscapes\u2019 – \u00a0a simple but brilliantly useful idea: a handy guide to all their flooring in a clever little concertina format. One side for wools and the other for natural fibre flooring, with tones \u00a0from light to dark naturals and finishing \u00a0with the colours. \u00a0An accompanying chart, Borderlines, shows their great borders: cotton, linen, faux and real leather. But go to their website www.alternativeflooring.com<\/a> for their really user-friendly \u2018Make Me a Rug\u2019 tool in four easy steps.<\/p>\n

In a new collaboration with Christopher Dezille, of leading architectural\u00a0interior design company Honky, The New England Shutter Company has come up with a new ‘Soft Touch’ finish for their Soho shutters. It\u2019s a\u00a0tactile,\u00a0non-reflective finish that feels like soft rubber, and it comes in five colours. These miniature baths on Drummonds\u2019 stand\u00a0 at Decorex show off Sophie Conran\u2019s\u00a0 fabulous range of paint colours which can be used on their cast iron baths. There are 12 shades (\u2018Pistachio Ice\u2019 and \u2018Mrs Peacock\u2019 among them) \u2013 all in a gloss finish for low-maintenance. \u00a0Drummonds\u2019 baths\u00a0can also be painted to order in literally any design.<\/p>\n

Grange has designed \u00a0a new web tool called \u2018My Grange\u2019 which lets you customise the finishes and degrees of antiquing on its handmade furniture. It also has 3D and zoom functions so you can inspect the details of any piece\u00a0before you buy. It\u2019s only available in their showrooms for now (but coming to their website soon).<\/p>\n

Pr\u00eat \u00e0 Vivre \u00a0have launched their Mood Board\u00a0Boxes to help their customers put together a complete decorating scheme. There are eight different ones to choose from, and they include paint, wallpaper and fabric samples. \u00a35 each. Penny Morrison and Carolina Irving were sharing a stand. They have collaborated on a collection of cushions using one-off vintage fabrics.\u00a0 I love this combination of antique linen and Balkan embroidery.
